Saving Ocean Life, One Sea Lion at a Time

You may have read about the influx of sea lions coming in to California's beaches in recent months. One organization based out of Laguna Beach has been taking action to rehabilitate these precious sea mammals and nursing them back to health.

The Pacific Marine Mammal Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine mammals stranded along the Orange County coastline and to increase public awareness of the marine environment through education and research. One of the many donation opportunities include "Adopt a Sea Lion" where you can contribute to your favorite pinniped pal directly from their website.

In recent weeks, the PMMC has released over a dozen sea lions back into the wild after giving them much needed TLC. The organization has posted videos on their Youtube of the sea lion release with many onlookers applauding in support- a very heartwarming visual to say the least!

The Pacific Marine Mammal Center is open free to the public 10am-4pm daily. It is located at 20612 Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
